Arrest not justified
I am responding to West Hawaii Today’s Wednesday article “Jury trial set for one of five arrested for virus violations at Kahaluu.” I am she, and want to correct certain false information.
It is not true that officers issued citations. I never received one. It’s also false that I refused to listen or comply. The very first contact I had with any officer was when they unexpectedly grabbed me from behind — on my way to the car — and handcuffed me without any prior warning or explanation.
I was dispersing and have a medical exemption that prevents me from wearing a mask. I was always more than 6 feet away from everyone. The charges against me are false, and the allegations that I was belligerent and hostile are simply not true. I am shocked to read all these lies about me.
The official data from organizations like the WHO and CDC show masks actually do not protect us from viruses, but instead, make us more likely to catch diseases like COVID. It is like using a chain link fence against a mosquito. Wearing a mask inhibits the release of carbon dioxide and creates bacteria inside the mask that you breathe in. Considering this, I wonder what all this is really about.
When states that have not locked down or imposed mask mandates have 99.998% to 100% recovery rate, like Finland, Norway, and Sweden, we need to question this “new normal.”
Since my unjustified arrest, I have experienced extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and stress-related pain. I still cannot wear a mask for medical reasons and am quite often harassed and attacked by people who don’t understand my condition. I feel the spirit of aloha has left the island. I am a single mother worried about my son’s future as I think all mothers should be.
